Can I Use AI OCs for My Webtoon?

Yes—provided you understand licensing, keep references organized, and treat AI renders as part of a larger production pipeline. Platforms like WEBTOON and Tapas primarily care that you own the rights, that your work is consistent, and that you can prove how assets were created.

1. Confirm Usage Rights

Plan tier: Paid OC Maker plans include commercial usage for your own titles. Check the pricing page for specifics.
Credit trail: Keep prompt logs and export IDs from the dashboard so you can answer staff questions about provenance.
Edits welcome: You can repaint over renders or use them as lineart references—just keep before/after files.

2. Build a Production Bundle

Consistency beats one-off hero shots. Bundle these assets for every main character:

Moodboard: Use the moodboard tool to define lighting, fonts, and props.
Palette Card: Generate HEX codes with the palette generator so colorists can match panels.
Expression Sheet: Export 4-up or 6-up faces via the Expression Sheet Maker.
Pose Library: Save multiple renders from the Theme Image Generator to cover action beats.

Storyboard-to-Finals Workflow

Outline arcs: The Backstory Generator keeps motivations straight so panel expressions match the script.
Plan cinematography: Use Nano Banana Pro or AI video previews to block camera moves before drawing final panels.
Render base panels: Generate clean poses, then ink/paint over them in Clip Studio or Procreate for a cohesive finish.
Version control: Store everything in Supabase or your favorite DAM so future episodes reuse the same assets.

FAQ

Will WEBTOON reject AI assets? They currently allow AI-assisted work as long as you disclose it when asked and you own the rights. Always read the latest creator guidelines.
How do I keep quality consistent? Lock your prompt presets, palette cards, and brush packs per series. Treat them like a style bible.
Can I mix 3D backgrounds? Absolutely—use Image-to-3D for sets, then comp your AI characters on top.
